Notes:

Like its relatives in the Liatris genus, dotted blazing star is incredibly nectariferous. They are observed as the latest blooming blazing star in Oklahoma and prefer dry, well-drained soil. Bombus fraternus (Southern Plains Bumble Bee), has been observed collecting pollen from this late-blooming wildflower.
